Open Registration
Fall classes start Monday, August 24. If you are admitted for the Fall 2009 semester and have not registered for classes, please plan to attend Open Registration on Thursday, August 20, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. You will meet with an academic advisor who will assist you in selecting your classes. Check-in will be located in the lobby of the Lucas Administrative Center, plaza entrance on the third floor.

REGISTER FOR CLASSES
- You are encouraged to seek an academic advising appointment prior to Open Registration.
Advisor Contact Information
- Check with your advisor on the day of your appointment to determine if he or she has obtained your advising file. If your advisor does not have your advising file, you should stop by the Office of Admissions (Lucas Administrative Center 400) to pick up your file.
- If you are unable to obtain an advising appointment prior to August 20, please plan to attend Open Registration on Thursday, August 20, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. You will meet with an academic advisor who will assist you in selecting your classes. Check-in will be located in the lobby of the Lucas Administrative Center plaza entrance on the third floor.
- All new freshmen and transfers students are required to attend an academic orientation session at 10:00 a.m. during Open Registration on Thursday, August 20. You are encouraged to attend the orientation sessions prior to registering for classes. Check-in will be located in the lobby of the Lucas Administrative Center. An orientation fee of $45 will be posted to your account following open registration day.
- When registering for classes you will logon to myNKU at http://mynku.nku.edu. To logon to myNKU you will need your user ID and password. Your user ID is located in the upper right hand corner of your acceptance letter. To activate your user ID, you will need to set your password online at http://password.nku.edu. If you have questions regarding your user ID or logging on to myNKU, please contact the IT Service Center, http://it.nku.edu/itsc/servicecenter.php.
PAYMENT OF TUITION & FEES
- Tuition is due Monday, August 17. You can view and pay your bill online through myNKU, using Visa, MasterCard or Discover. All online credit card transactions are charged a $15.00 fee. Non-degree seeking students are not eligible for financial aid.
- NKU Installment Plan: The University offers you a 50/25/25 payment option. If tuition is not paid in full by the original tuition due date, you will automatically be placed into the payment plan option. Your account will be charged the payment plan fee of $50.00 and will begin to accrue 1.25% interest each month. Fifty percent of the full balance is due by the original tuition due date. Twenty-five percent of the remaining balance is due approximately thirty days later on September 15, and the final 25% is due approximately 60 days after the original tuition due date on October 15. PLACEMENT TESTING
- If your standardized test scores fall below the readiness standards, you will need to plan to take a college placement test(s) on Thursday, August 20, at 8:30 a.m. in Founders Hall, room 421:
ACT: Math less than 19; Reading less than 20; English less than 18
SAT: Math less than 460; Reading and English less than 480Placement Test(s) in English, math, and/or reading determine which NKU course levels are appropriate for your knowledge. All placement tests are administered one time, free of charge, prior to your registration for NKU courses. To access online practice tests, visit http://testing.nku.edu.
