But You Matter More

No matter who you are or where you come from, we want to emphasize one thing: College is possible and affordable. We can help make your dreams come true. Northern Kentucky University is eager to assist you as you prepare for college. We know firsthand how important it is for students and parents to understand their options for financing college tuition.

Merit Scholarships
NKU awards over one million dollars in academic scholarships each year to the incoming freshman class.  The scholarship process is competitive; NKU awards merit scholarships to students who demonstrate academic excellence both in the classroom and on the ACT/SAT examinations.

Grants & Loans
For the Office of Student Financial Assistance to determine your eligibility for all types of financial aid, it is necessary that you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA can be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.  When completing the FAFSA, be sure to indicate the NKU school code #009275.  More than 70% of Northern Kentucky University students receive financial aid.  Financial aid awards help cover the cost of tuition, room & board, even books.

On-Campus Employment
NKU students have various employment opportunities while attended classes on campus. Students can find jobs working in almost any NKU department.  Most offices hire student employees every semester, and better yet - they work around your class schedule. In addition to employment opportunities within academic departments and student services, NKU has developed an educational partnership with a Cincinnati based fortune 500 company, Fidelity Investments. Fidelity Investments operates a customer service center on campus, allowing students to gain professional experience while attending classes.
